OK, I saw there was some talk of realignment over on the DMBL News Blog. (http://dmblnews.blogspot.com/2007/03/monday-musings.html) Just because five of the seven teams are in the same division is no reason to screw up tradition! Seriously, I think the divisions should stay as they are. I think it is cool to have divisional rivalries like Arkansas and Vancouver, Marietta and Hoboken, Carolina and Philly, Newark and Everybody, etc. Also you can have records like most team wins in Hanover Division history (I'll have to look that one up) Also, what's the difference, since everyone plays a balanced schedule? The only thing is division winners. If you are a division winner you get a first-round bye even if you don't have a great record. In theory, if every team in one division was awful and every team in the other division was great, you would have a situation where seven teams (all in Division A) have terrific records, but the team with the 8th best record (the Division B winner) goes to the playoffs as the #2 seed. But that's probably mathematically impossible, and we have never had a case where the division winner didn't have at the very least the third-best record. But I am curious to see if anyone has any thoughts about realignment.

The schedule is slightly imbalanced - everyone plays 13 games against division teams and 12 games against teams outside their division, but it's not really a big deal. I don't think we ever had a case of one team in one division and 5 from the other going to the playoffs. I'm all for keeping the divisions as are - I like the rivalries, but figured it'd be a good topic for discussion.
I think Butch is just scared that he'll get Stump in his division! (damn cheating Butch)

Arkansas Press Release
The Falcons executive management is in discussion about the realignment topic at hand. We understand that there has been plenty of talk about the Sugar Bears cheating ways and would be surprised if there is any truth to the matter. But, we do realize that the Sugar Bears have been apparently dropping "poo cubes" in their drawers due to the fact Arkansas was mentioned to possibly join their division which would mean the Sugar Bears "easy divisional" wins would come to an abrupt end.
Thank You
Falcon Brass
