What do you guys think of this rule change....
When an inelligible player is cut he can be signed by another team during the 2-day waiver period. This gives teams a chance to pick up an inelligible player that they may not have had an opportunity to claim during the draft or because of protected lists. Once the 2-day waiver period expires, the player is unable to be rostered until the following year. We may want to keep this rule only during the pre-season. I know you will say well you can always trade for that player, but not every team is, ahem, responsive to deals or may ask a ridiculous amount for a fringe player.
Any thoughts?

Don't you think though that this could introduce a bad strategy? Say I had no intention of keeping Prospect A and I knew that another team wanted him, I can just draft him and keep him away from the next team and cut him and no one would get a chance at him. I know you could try to trade for the player, but if the team has no interest in listening to deals or is unresponsive then there should be some way to acquire that player. I doubt it would have a huge effect anyway, but it would give some teams a nice way of acquiring a keeper (could be a guy that was protected as well).

Why is that a bad strategy?

Ok maybe not a bad strategy, but maybe I should have said "unintended" strategy? The DMBL Players Union might get upset with teams drafting players that they have no intention of signing.
